Skywatching: Views from The Durham

Spend a summer evening stargazing from the rooftop of The Durham Hotel with help from Morehead Planetarium educators. On July 21st, you'll have access to telescopes and expert guidance focused on viewing the first quarter moon and Venus. DJ Skylan provides live music throughout the evening, creating a fun atmosphere for families and curious minds of all ages. The event is completely free and welcomes everyone. The Roof opens at 5 p.m. if you'd like to arrive early for dinner and sunset views, with shareable plates and craft cocktails available (including a special Saturn-themed drink). Stargazing and music run from 8:30 to 10:30 p.m., so you can decide whether to make an evening of it or join just for the astronomy portion. This is a great way to explore the night sky together as a family without needing your own equipment.
