Tales & Tails

Is your child a reader who feels shy about reading aloud in front of others? Tales & Tails offers a low-pressure way to build confidence and strengthen reading skills. Your child will read one-on-one with a trained therapy dog in a calm, judgment-free setting at the library. Each participant gets a dedicated 15-minute slot during the program window to spend with one of the therapy dogs. This setup ensures both the child and dog stay comfortable and focused throughout the experience. Two wonderful therapy dogs will be available to listen. Magnolia is a young, energetic pup who recently earned her therapy dog certification and loves spending time with kids. Izzy is a calm, gentle Bernese Mountain Dog who enjoys making people happy. Kids from kindergarten through fifth grade are welcome. Registration is required and will close on August 7, so sign up early to secure your child's time slot.
