The Tree-mendous Science of Forestry
Hands-on forestry workshop teaches kids how foresters protect forests at Cedarock Park.
Your budding scientists and nature enthusiasts will love this morning adventure at Cedarock Park. Kids will get up close with a real forestry fire truck, learn practical strategies for preventing wildfires, and discover how prescribed burns help keep forests healthy. The hands-on experience also includes trying out actual forestry tools and taking a guided walk through the park to spot and identify the trees growing right in our community.
This free program is designed for children ages 8–12, though family members and adults are welcome to join in. Everyone attending does need to register ahead of time through the Alamance Parks system. It's a great way to spend a weekend morning learning about forest conservation while exploring the outdoors with kids who are curious about science and how nature works.
