Unframed Voices: Art. Theater. No Boundaries.

Art and theater experience at NC Museum of Art.

Experience theater like you've never seen it before—literally. Four North Carolina playwrights have created original ten-minute plays inspired by artworks currently on display, and four local theater companies will perform them throughout the museum's galleries. Instead of sitting in one spot, you'll move from room to room as the museum itself becomes the stage. Paintings, sculptures, and installations transform into backdrops for live storytelling, blending visual art with performance in a way that breaks down the usual boundaries between audience and artwork. This is perfect for families who enjoy both theater and art, or anyone curious about creative collaboration. The evening features work from established Triangle artists and companies including RedBird Theater, Honest Pint Theatre, Justice Theater Project, and North Carolina Central University. Tickets are $25 for general admission ($22.50 for members). Please plan to arrive by 7 p.m. so you have time to reach the first performance, which begins at 7:10 p.m.
