Unframed Voices: Art. Theater. No Boundaries.

Art and theater experience at NC Museum of Art.

Step into an evening where theater and visual art come together in unexpected ways. Four North Carolina playwrights have created original ten-minute plays inspired by artworks on display at the museum, and four local theater companies will bring those stories to life. Rather than watching from seats, you and your family will move through the galleries as performances happen around you—turning paintings, sculptures, and installations into backdrops for live storytelling. It's an immersive experience designed to blur the lines between what you see on the wall and what unfolds before you. The evening features work by established regional theater artists including Tamara Kissane (whose play was inspired by Joan Mitchell's *Sunflower II*), Ian Finley, Aurelia Belfield, and Brook North. Participating companies include RedBird Theater, Honest Pint Theatre, Justice Theater Project, and North Carolina Central University. Tickets are $25 for general admission ($22.50 for members). Plan to arrive by 7 p.m., as the first performance begins at 7:10 p.m. This works well for families comfortable with their kids experiencing theater in an unconventional gallery setting.
