Volunteer Workday in Pritchard Park
Family-friendly habitat restoration in Pritchard Park—plant natives and learn ecology.
Join a monthly Saturday morning volunteer session dedicated to restoring Pritchard Park's natural spaces. You'll work alongside others to remove invasive plants, plant native trees and perennials, and help maintain the park's ecosystem. This hands-on work is perfect for teens and adults who want to make a direct environmental impact. The group gathers by the pollinator garden to start the morning.
Come prepared for active outdoor work: wear closed-toe shoes suitable for uneven ground, dress for the weather, and bring a full water bottle. You'll spend time bending, kneeling, and pulling plants by hand or with tools as you navigate the park's varied terrain. If severe weather hits, the workday may be cancelled. For details about upcoming sessions and to stay updated on future volunteer opportunities, reach out to Dale Morgan at dmorgan@chapelhillnc.gov. The library welcomes accessibility requests—just get in touch if you need specific accommodations.
