Art on the Dot at West Building
Art on the Dot is the North Carolina Museum of Art's casual approach to exploring the galleries. A museum educator leads small groups through focused tours, each highlighting about three artworks and lasting roughly 30 minutes. This format works well for families with younger children or anyone who prefers a shorter, more digestible museum experience rather than spending hours wandering.
The program runs in three back-to-back rounds on weekend afternoons, with brief breaks between sessions, so you can join one tour or stay for multiple if you'd like. There's no admission cost—it's included with general admission to the museum. It's a great way to discover what's on view and get some expert insight without committing to a lengthy tour.
