Live Animal Feeding: Lobster
Watch live lobster feeding and learn about ocean life at NC Museum of Natural Sciences.
Watch as staff members feed a live Maine lobster during this short, hands-on program at the Arthropod Zoo. You'll get to meet the museum's Living Collections staff and learn fascinating facts about these remarkable creatures. Lobsters are known for their feisty personalities and impressive claws, and their tough exoskeletons are specially reinforced with minerals like lime to help them survive in their ocean environment.
This is a walk-up program with no registration needed, making it easy to drop in when you visit. The 15-minute session is free and works well for families with children of all ages, as well as teens and adults curious about marine life. You'll find the program on the fourth floor in the Arthropod Zoo section of the Nature Exploration Center.
