Public Tour

Your family can explore the North Carolina Museum of Art's West Building with a knowledgeable docent leading a 50-minute tour of the People's Collection. This is a wonderful option for your first visit to the museum, a nice activity after grabbing lunch at the café, or whenever you'd like to discover more about the thousands of years of art and culture on display. Children of all ages are welcome to join. What you'll experience depends on the docent leading the tour—they may guide you through several galleries, focus on particular artists, or discuss the fundamentals and elements of art itself. Since tours vary based on docent availability, each visit offers something a bit different. Admission is free, and all you need to do is meet your docent at the public tour sign in the West Building when you arrive.
