Join a guided exploration of the North Carolina Museum of Art's impressive collection spanning over 5,000 years of artistic traditions and cultures. Led by knowledgeable museum docents, this 50-minute tour takes place in the West Building and is completely free to attend. Depending on the docent leading your group, you might explore multiple galleries, focus on particular artists, or learn about fundamental art concepts and techniques. This tour works wonderfully whether you're visiting the museum for the first time, looking for something to do after grabbing lunch at the café, or simply wanting to deepen your appreciation for art and history. All ages are welcome to participate. Simply arrive at the public tour sign in the West Building to meet your docent—no advance registration needed. Keep in mind that specific tours and gallery focus areas vary based on docent availability, so each visit offers a slightly different experience.
