Incredible Science
Interactive science demonstrations at NC Museum of Natural Sciences Downtown.
Your kids will love this fast-paced, thirty-minute show featuring hands-on science experiments and live demonstrations. Each session covers different topics—you might see physics and chemistry in action through experiments about inertia, buoyancy, or electromagnetism. Other sessions dive into natural science, exploring surprising facts like what makes beaver teeth so incredible or why bird eggs are engineered to be so strong. Best for children ages 7 and up, though younger or older siblings are welcome too.
This is a walk-up program, so no advance registration needed—just show up and enjoy. It's completely free and happens regularly throughout the week at Windows on the World on the third floor of the Nature Exploration Center. Sessions run just long enough to hold kids' attention while packing in plenty of "wow" moments. It's a great way to spark curiosity about the natural world during a museum visit.
