Live Animal Feeding: Lobster

Join us for a close-up look at a Maine lobster during feeding time at the Arthropod Zoo. You'll get to watch this impressive crustacean in action while meeting the Living Collections staff who care for the animals. It's a great chance to learn about how lobsters survive in the wild, including fascinating details about their hard exoskeletons and how they use minerals to strengthen their protective shells. This is a walk-up program, so no advance registration is needed—just show up and enjoy. The experience is free for all ages, making it perfect for families curious about sea creatures and arthropods. The program runs for about 15 minutes, giving you a focused opportunity to observe these feisty animals up close and ask questions of the experts on hand.
