Public Tour

Your family can explore the North Carolina Museum of Art's West Building with a knowledgeable guide leading a 50-minute tour focused on the People's Collection. This is an ideal outing for first-time visitors, a natural follow-up to grabbing lunch at the café, or anytime you want to learn more about the museum's extensive art spanning over 5,000 years of human creativity and culture. The docent-led experience is flexible and varies based on availability—your guide might take you through several galleries, highlight specific artists, or teach you about fundamental art concepts and techniques. Children of all ages are welcome to join. The tour is completely free, and participation is simple: just meet your docent at the public tour sign in West Building when you arrive.
